Deaf & Hard of Hearing Children

     Deafness or hearing loss ,which affect  child's  ability to hear sounds , can be present at birth or acquired later in life.There are different degrees and types hearing loss , ranging from mild to profound ,and from conductive to sensorineural.Deafness is defined as a hearing loss above 90 decibels ,which means that the child has little or no functional hearing.      Hearing loss can be used by different  factors such as birth  complications ,noise exposure ,infection ,trauma ,or genetics .sometimes children will have other  conditions to consider alongside  hearing  loss.            Children who are deaf of  hard of hearing can use hearing aids cochlear  implants ,or learn  sign    language to support communication .Find  links   a wide range of resources for families on hearing loss   from the centers for Disease control    ...

The Veddas

      Sri lanka's  first people the Vedd or Adiwasi  have a captivating story .According to the island fascinating historical chronicle - the Mahavamsa it is  said that they  were the children or dedescendants of 👑 queen Kuveni , a Yaksha amd the wife of 🇱🇰  legendary first King Vijay .However ,according to anthropology ,their  origins are much older with some anthropology dating  them back to the stong age .  A hunter - gather people the Veddas have a long history of living harmoniously with nature .There are three perdominant  types of Veddas or Coastal Veddas  ,that lived on the coastlineand Gam Veddas or village Vedds that lived off in chena cultivation in small huts in village communities.

Heart attack & symptoms

          A  heart attack occurs   when the flow of blood to the heart is severaly reduced or blocked. The blockage is usually due to a buildup of fat, cholesterol and other  substance in the heart arteriea.The fatty cholesterol - containing deposits are called plaques .The process of plaque buildup is called atherosclerosis.      Sometimes a plaque can rupture and form a clot that blocks blood  flow .A lack of blood flow can damage or  destroy part of the heart muscle.     Symptoms       Symptoms of a heart attack vary.Some people have mild symptoms .Others have severe symptoms ,Some people have no symptoms  .      Common heart attack symptoms include :  *   chest pain that may feel like pressure tightness ,        pain squeezing or aching. *    Pain or discomfort that spreads to the shoulder ,      arm back ...

Dunhinda Ella

       Dunhinda is considered to be one of the most enchanting falls in Sri lanka and is in close proximity to Badulla town. The water resles a thin cloud  as it cascades 63 m downwards into a large pool. The backdrop to the fall is known as 'Dunhind Adaviya '.' Dunhinda ' translates to ' spraying /  vapour  waterfall ' - the world ' dun ' means ' gave / was given, ' while  ' hinda'  means ' evaporte' .                This fall is steeped in history.The area was once inhabited by indigenous  people - the Veddha tribe.During the time of King Rajasihe ,a giant fren got stuck at the top of the fall , between two mountains .This  acted as a dam, which resulted in the flooding of Badulla town.

Kandy Esla Perahara

           The Sri Dalada Perhara processions of kady also known as the festival of the tooth is a festival held in July and August  in Kandy , 🇱🇰  Sri lanka .The historical processions is  held annually to pay homage to the  to the Scard Tooth Relic of Buddha housed at the Sri Dalada Maligawa   in kandy.A unique symbol of Srilanka ,the processions consists of traditional local dances such as fire dances and performance in  whip  dancw garments . The festival ends with the traditional Diya Kapeema ritual  a water  cutting ceremony which is held at the  Mahaweli River at Gatabe kandy.

          My garden contains different types of plants.For instance ,it has different flowers such as 🌹 roses , 🌞 sunflowers ,lilies, daisies .These flowers are the easiest to grow and flourish the environment with their beautiful smells. Moreover the colours of these flowers make a garden look  beautiful .         Futher , my garden has different vegetables growing in them . Ex :  vegetables like 🍅 tomato         Carrots          Sweet potato          Cauliflower            Bell pepper  .  These are the easiest to grow. Thaipongal Festival

           Pongal  also  referred to as Thai Pongal is a multi day Hindu harvest festival  celebrated by Tamils. It is observed in the month of Thai according to  Tamil solar  calendar and usually  fall on 14  or 15  january. It dedicated to the  Surya   ,the  sun god and  correspondent to makar sankranthi ,the harvest festival under many religional names celebrated through India.
